This website is in support of the text Engineering Statics with MATLAB^® by Lester W. Schmerr Jr, which makes use of the symbolic and numerical capabilities of MATLAB^® to demonstrate a new approach to learning statics. An addendum that contains additional chapters covering topics not in the main text is available here, as are a set of annotated lectures that present the entire contents of a course in statics. A tutorial on solving statics problems with
MATLAB^® is also provided. MATLAB® m-files and PowerPoint versions of the lectures are also available. All the materials on this site can be freely used and downloaded.
